The mission, objectives and means of action of the Reine HANGBE Foundation.

Our mission

The Reine HANGBE Foundation works for:

  • a society free of violence and of all other forms of discrimination against women;
  • a society where equal opportunity is established for all citizens;
  • universal basic education, compulsory and free for all children — without exception — of school age;
  • access to safe drinking water, health and nutrition for all citizens;
  • the preservation of a healthy environment.

Our objectives

The objectives of the Reine HANGBE Foundation are:

  • to fight against violence and all forms of discrimination against women and children;
  • to contribute to the disappearance of all forms of discrimination, to gender integration and to poverty reduction;
  • to promote the fulfilment of women in particular, and of society in general, through training, information and awareness-raising on human rights, citizenship, non-violence, and conflict prevention and resolution;
  • to work towards understanding, solidarity and tolerance between peoples by strengthening the capacities of civil society;
  • to work towards the recognition of Queen HANGBE, the restoration of her palace and the visibility of the great female figures that mark the history of the African continent.

Our means of action

The means of action of the Foundation are:

  • research and documentation;
  • campaigns and advocacy;
  • capacity building of members and partners;
  • partnership;
  • the implementation of local projects, together with the direct beneficiaries;
  • fundraising;
  • and any other means enabling the Foundation to achieve its objectives.
